HPA

Presently, Orbite is finalizing construction of its three tonnes per day HPA facility in Cap-Chat, Québec. Once completed, the Company intends providing a comprehensive portfolio of customizable HPA products for various applications. Initially, the Company will be producing alpha alumina.

Density from 0.4 g/cm3 to 3.2 g/cm3

Particle size distribution from a d50 of 0.5 to 35 micron for powder

Quality control

Orbite is committed to delivering a consistent quality of its products in accordance with market-driven specifications tailored to customers’ processes. At its Technology Development Centre (TDC), Orbite has developed proprietary know-how on materials characterization, over-and-beyond anything available at commercial laboratories elsewhere.

 

High-Purity Alumina

(HPA)

HPA is generally defined as alumina with purities greater than 99.99% (4N).

Through work at our Technology Development Centre (TDC), we customize our HPA product portfolio to match requirements for specific market applications. Alumina comes in different crystal forms, the most dominant, in terms of application, are alpha and gamma. Gamma HPA is highly porous and used predominantly in catalytic applications. Alpha HPA is used for sapphire-based applications, coatings, ceramics and lithium-ion battery (LIB) separators, and is the form Orbite will be producing initially.
